| Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as ์one of the most sophisticated pianists in jazz,๎ Michael Kocour has performed at jazz venues and festivals around the world and appeared with many of the greatest names in jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Golson, and James Moody.
After having been a fixture in the Chicago music scene for twenty years, Kocour left his hometown in August 2004, to become the Director of Jazz Studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He returns to Chicago regularly throughout the year for performances at the Jazz Showcase, the Green Mill, Pete Miller's and other jazz venues.
