| Whirling synths, crisp drums and abstract lyricism are few things that can describe this trio of electric soul. Much like Funkadelic, Milez Benjamin takes old-school funk and combines it with an electronic blanket of rhythms that can only be described as cyborg funk. Gerd, Delgui and Colonel Red first met in Chicago in 2004 and quickly began working on their debut album, Feel Glorious, released by Tru Thoughts (the sister label to Ubiquity which specializes in cutting edge funk and soul). The group has been flying under the radar for a few years now, but that's because Tru Thoughts likes to take its time with its eclectic clientele. (Jeff Min)
