| After a year and a half of recording and producing Nick Peraino and Blue Moon Risin's new self-release titled Noisy Picks and Humbars is now available. Their record release party, headlined by David Dondero, was a success last December at the Beat Kitchen. The 6-year-old Chicago band recently had a full winter schedule of shows in and out of town in support of the critically acclaimed album Nick Peraino and Blue Moon Risin’ combine fresh, exciting, funky, rockin’ rhythmic ideas with soulful melodies and instrumental sections that bloom into exciting and original songs. The lyrics wax and wane between being viscerally autobiographical to fictional humor. There is a fine balance in incorporating new ideas into songs people can relate to without losing the audience. It’s safe to say that this band sits on the fence between the jam-band and singer/songwriter genres, if that’s possible. This creates a really exciting live show, it's different and a more energetic experience than listening to a recording.
