| Otter Petter is the five-piece rock outfit you'd hate to take off. Formed in Chicago in 2005, Otter Petter creates their own unique sound by blending the sugary pop confections of artists like Matthew Sweet with the more obtuse constructions of indie-rock bands like Death Cab For Cutie. Otter Petter’s members include brothers Michael (guitar, vocals) and William Pritchard (drums), Russ Freeman (keyboards and vocals), Raphael Dussaussoy (guitar), and Greg Smith (bass).
In July 2005, Otter Petter issued The Otter Petter EP, a CD comprised of 5 original songs written by Michael Pritchard. The release of this disc was accompanied by a very productive series of shows for the band. Otter Petter played at many notable Chicago music clubs, including Double Door, Martyrs’, Beat Kitchen, Gunther Murphy’s, Elbo Room, and Cubby Bear.
2006 is sure to be a big year for Otter Petter. Currently, the band is working on their first full-length CD. Scheduled for release in the summer of 2006, the new record will feature the updated Otter Petter sound and some great new songs.
