R.E.O. Speedwagon

Yes, REO Speedwagon has returned! A new album Building the Bridge (on Priority/Rhythm Safari) features three original members (Kevin Cronin, Neal Doughty & Bruce Hall) as well as some new folk.

Mainstream rockers named after the fire truck design started in Champaign, Il. in the late sixties. In the 25 years since, the band that started out in a rented station wagon playing bars across America's heartland has produced 17 critically-acclaimed albums and scored 13 Top 40 singles. With the release of their new CD "Building the Bridge," the group has linked a storied past exemplified by such classics as "Keep on Lovin' You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling" with a stirring new set of contemporary songs destined to become additions to its collected works, including President Clinton's re-election campaign. The band that nearly invented the power ballad had phenomenal success with its eleventh album Hi Fidelity which included the smash singles "Keep on Lovin' You" (#1) and "Take it on the Run" (#2). The spirit of REO Speedwagon is led by Kevin Cronin (lead singer), Neal Doughty (keyboards), Bruce Hall (bass), Dave Amato (lead guitar) and Bryan Hitt (drums).
