| Longtime house bassist at Joe Segal's Jazz Showcase studied bass at Northwestern University. Member of TanaReid, with drummer Akira Tana. You can hear Reid on Andrew Hill's Shades (1986; Soul Note -- also featuring Clifford Jordan). He and pianist Sir Roland Hanna, are scheduled to pay tribute to Duke Ellington's stellar bassist Jimmy Blanton in an afternoon set at the 1999 Chicago Jazz Festival.
