| Veteran blues drummer died of cancer in January, 1998. The Texas native had played in Chicago since the early 1950s, and performed with the likes of T-Bone Walker, Lowell Fulson, Jimmy Rogers, and Magic Sam, as well as on historically important recordings by Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Over the past few decades, he had performed regularly on the North Side's blues club circuit, with a number of musicians, including pianists Blind John Davis and Erwin Helfer.
