| An organization dedicated to the study and performance of liturgical chant and early polyphony, the ensemble mainly draws its repertory from medieval manuscripts spanning the earliest monuments of Gregorian chant through approximately the year 1350. Schola Antiqua of Chicago currently comprises eight professional musicians who perform early liturgical music, under the artistic direction of Calvin M. Bower, Professor and Fellow in the Medieval Institute at the University of Notre Dame.
