Take the guitar-driven pop rock of U2, the folksy world sound of the Corrs and the voice of that guy from the B-52s, you and have Solar Tribe. Creating this unique-sounding music are band members with even more unique-sounding names: Ramsey Gouda on vocals and guitar; Devorah Buzil on percussion and vocals; Mark Mattucci on percussion and drums; Gordon Patriarca on bass; Starina Catchatoorian on vocals; and Kenton Muschenheim on acoustic guitar and vocals. In early 2000, Solar Tribe released an eight-song EP entitled "Enlightened Paramecium." They also completed a full-length album, "(Conscious Pilot)," with producer Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Pink Floyd, The Urge).
Solar Tribe's appearances include shows at Metro, House of Blues and Double Door in Chicago. For more information, or to hear listen to Solar Tribe's music, check out the band's Web site.(Alissa LaSovage)
