| So it's a long name, but this local folk/rock trio is better than most, with especially notable vocal harmonies. Take a listen to their second CD, Consequences of Speech (Waterbug) and see for yourselves. Grammy-winner Harry Waller calls them "the future of folk music." Chicago Magazine calls them "a group that stands out from traditional folk acts... [Roper's] voice has an almost childlike quality, which, when combined with simple melodies and the soaring vocal harmonies of Walker and Demel, can salve even a story of unrequited love." Their first CD was entitled Three Good Reasons. Band members are Sue Demel (vocals, guitar, percussion), Deborah Lader (guitar, mandolin, slide banjo) and Bruce Roper (vocals, guitar, accordian, banjo and keyboards).
