The Last Vegas

The Last Vegas live in downtown Chicago, IL. 'Bad-boy boogie beats' burnin with lots of guitar and pounding drums characterize The Last Vegas signature, raw, sound. Influenced by the blues, 70's punk, and bands the like of The Stooges, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and old school Aerosmith, The Last Vegas latest CD on Get Hip Records is 10 songs of pure, blue-collar rock'n'roll.

Originating in Normal, IL, The Last Vegas spent their pre-Chicago years traveling the US in D.I.Y. style, burning thru vans, fans, gear and broken hearts. Gaining a reputation for a hard livin', hard workin' rock'n'roll lifestyle, The Last Vegas had in the process amassed a nation-wide cult following of rockers, hippies, stoners, punks, and various youth degenerates. After moving to Chicago, The Last Vegas landed numerous opening slots for cutting-edge national touring bands including The Cynics, Urge Overkill, Nashville Pussy, The Cherry Valence, Rev. Horton Heat, Dick Dale, Mike Watt, Alabama Thunderpussy, and more. The Last Vegas vowed to plow thru the then trendy, indie-emo, horn-rimmed scene unfortunately dominating the Chicago musical climate. Vowing to bang their heads, fall off stages, smash cymbals, and sweat a lot, The Last Vegas arose as a standout in the now burgeoning, highly touted, Chicago hard rock scene.

The Last Vegas recorded their debut album, "Lick 'Em and Leave 'Em" at Volume Studios with Sanford Parker (Pelican, Venomous Concept) in April 2003. The CD was picked up by Get Hip Records in Pittsburgh, PA, and The Last Vegas had thier first recording contract.

The Last Vegas live show and debut CD has been met with favorable press in the US and abroad, drawing comparisons to Gun'N'Roses, The Hellacopters, Turbo Negro, MC5 and more. Since the album's release, The Last Vegas have toured nationally / internationally nonstop with acts such as Urge Overkill, Bad Wizard, Nashville Pussy and The Cynics, and have fueled their live-show buzz at premier festivals such as Austin's SXSW and North Carolina's Sleazefest.
