The Micah Walk Band

Ever since they first met each other at high school registration, John Cardoni and Darin Holthaus have been playing music together. They were members of a regionally popular group called Public Display of Funk for six years. While at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, they roomed with Dan Hartman and discovered there was a unique chemistry between the three of them. All three were music majors and played in countless ensembles and studio sessions together. Yet, the three friends never played in a band outside of academia. That changed when Darin moved to Springfield and began working at a music store where he met Micah. The two hit if off well and soon discussed the idea of a band. Darin asked John and Dan if they were interested, which they both were. Making use of Micah's established name around Springfield, they simply starting calling themselves The Micah Walk Band when they played the first show in the summer of 2005.

Combining Micah's personal songwriting and alluring voice, John's unique guitar work, the intricate rhythms of Darin, and the solid low end of Dan, the group immediately connects themselves to their music, and the music to others. The band's live show is easy on the ears while still very intense, dynamic, and most importantly, enjoyable. Influences of the group are evident, as they cross all boundaries of music from various songwriters to jazz to country to classic rock and then some.
