University of Chicago Chorus

The University of Chicago Chorus is the largest choir sponsored by the Department of Music, made up of approximately 100-120 vocalists from the campus and community. The University Chorus generally focuses on large works for chorus and orchestra, including Handel's Messiah and a year-end collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra. The normal concert season includes four on-campus concerts.

Special projects in the past have included Nancy Galbraith's Mass with the University Wind Ensemble, and concerts of Jewish Sacred Song and "Let the People Say Amen" gospel concert with choirs and cantors from across the city.

Randi Von Ellefson, director
