The University of Chicago Motet Choir is a distinguished group of 30-40 singers chosen by audition from undergraduate as well as graduate students. The Motet Choir performs a wide variety of a cappella literature from the Renaissance to the present day. There are five on-campus performances, plus a biennial tour in odd-numbered years. In previous years the Motet Choir has produced a CD of the Chicago performance of the tour program. In January 2003 the Motet Choir performed with El Coro de Canto Gregoriano, many of whom were formerly of the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos who brought to the world through their recordings of Gregorian Chant.
