| A 100-piece symphony orchestra of accomplished student and community musicians, the University Symphony Orchestra is widely known for its imaginative productions of unusual works, its special concert formats, and its presentation of major symphonic repertoire. The Orchestra performs five programs each year, including an annual Halloween concert and a year-end collaboration with the combined choruses. Recent repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mahler's Symphony No. 5, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, Bernstein's On the Waterfront, Stravinsky's Jeu de cartes and Le sacre du printemps, and Brahms' Double Concerto with members of the Pacifica Quartet (Simin Ganatra, violin, and Brandon Vamos, cello).
