| Led by powerhouse reedman Ken Vandermark, this group has released several records including their debut, Single Piece Flow, the critically-acclaimed sophomore effort, Target or Flag, and the recent Simpatico (all on Atavistic). Other members include bassist Kent Kessler, drummer Tim Daisy, Fred Lonberg-Holm on Cello, and alto saxophonist Dave Rempis (replacing longtime member Mars Williams). Since joining the group, Rempis has matured into an avant-garde role, toughening his cool tenor tone, but still contrasting Vandermark's extroverted sounds.
