Walking Bicycles have just finished recording, mixing and mastering their next release and first lp, "disconnected". Four tracks were recorded by Brian Deck at Engine Studios, and four tracks were recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio Studios, Chicago, IL. "disconnected" was mastered by Greg Calbi, Sterling-Sound Studios, New York, and is due out April 11th on cd and ltd. edition, 180 Gram Vinyl. They will be touring this summer in support of their new release.
Walking Bicycles’ sound has been appropriately described as “a post-punk storm of paranoia and fear that is both atmospheric and completely focused and hard-hitting at the same time.”
Jocelyn Summers, vocalist, and Julius Moriarty, guitarist, began writing music together three years ago. They officially formed Walking Bicycles in December 2003 while living in Eureka, CA. In December of 2004, the band recorded their self-released, self-funded and self-titled ep at Los Angeles’ Cornerstone Studios.
In March 2005, Walking Bicycles relocated to Chicago, IL adding Jason Leather on bass guitar and Cris Castallan on drums. After showcasing at South by Southwest 2005, Walking Bicycles toured the U.S. with dates from Los Angeles to New York City.
