CSO member (1992-) was recently named assistant principal bassoon after serving as acing assistant principal since May. The Canton, Ohio native spent 2 seasons with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, where he also taught at Southern Methodist University. In Chicago, Buchman has performed with the Chicago Chamber Musicians and Chicago Pro Musica.
Graduated magna cum laude (bachelors degree in Physics) from Brown University, while winning both the Rosamund Winslow Lemaire Woodwind and Jean and Francis Madeira Music Prizes. After studying Physics at the Universitat Fridericiana Karlsruhe (Germany), he studies bassoon performance at Yale & the University of Souther California.
