I have seen numerous productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and I have always been impressed. I believe that Shakespeare's verse is alive and well in Chicago. The building is beautiful and classy, the productions are highly professional and they are always presenting the public with a beautiful marriage of innovation and tradition. Go see a show.

After seeing their production King John, all I can see about Chicago Shakespeare Theatre is this: DO NOT waste you're time or you're money seeing ridiculously flashy productions, where Shakespeare's wonderful verse takes a back seat to an abundance of automatic weapons, explosions, remarkably static movement, and passionless acting. Save the $50 and the 3 hours and do something fun. Please.
