I was the Director of Photography for the Crown Fountain project, working directly with artist Jaume Plensa and the Art Institute of Chicago, to produce over 700 of the faces shown on the fountain in High Definition video. At the time, I had no idea how the fountain itself would look, or how the images that I was producing would appear on it's huge outdoor monitors. When the project was completed, I was overjoyed to see the way that it turned out! Mobs of squealing children racing about through the skein of water between the two huge towers, the watery reflections of the faces from the enormous screens, and the curiously universal reaction of most everyone to see it: a smile! I invite everyone to come and see what is surely the most unique outdoor video-fountain in the world, and experience the wonder of seeing faces thrity feet high...especially when they purse their lips and spew a huge stream of water! (Shooting people making "the fish face" for this part of the display was the hardest part of our task) I am very proud to have been a part of the making of this great art work. Come and see it for yourself!
