AMAZING!! I brought my family here 2 weeks ago, and returned last night for valentine's day. What an enjoyable experience, great food, genuinely friendly and efficient service....the short ribs were to DIE for, but only after a delightful starter of the grilled baby octopus. This place is going to be a destination restaurant soon without a doubt. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

EXTREMELY disappointing and definitely not worth the price. I ordered two dishes I wanted to pick up and was placed on hold twice before I could place an order. The tagliata was just 4 pieces of meat on a bed of lettuce (for $16); the gnocchi dish was okay, but definitely not up to my standard... Angelina's up the street is by far much much better for the same price range

We just tried Adesso for the first time tonight. After reading the mixed reviews here, I was skeptical when I arrived. We were seated graciously after arriving on a Saturday night without a reservation. Our water glasses were full, and our BYOB Cabernet was opened quickly by our friendly efficient server. We enjoyed two starters, a Caprese Salad and an order of Calamari. The salad was a little light on the tomatoes but had a large piece of fresh mozzarella. The Calamari was nice light and tender. Following that we tried a pasta aioli which was a nice large dish of pasta, tomato, basil etc. Also I enjoyed the Braised Beef Ribs over Polenta. I really enjoyed this dish. The beef was braised until it was nice and tender. The polenta was warm and tasty. The sauce was pretty salty, but I loved it. Finally we shared a ice cream dessert which had a shot of espresso which we both enjoyed. 2 Starters, 2 Mains, 1 dessert. $56 + tip. I found the food tasty, fresh, and a good value. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and modern-trendy, but that’s the fun of this place and location. This would be great for a date or before enjoying the Lakeview nightlife with friends.

although I have eaten at adesso once and was not highly impressed I feel the restaurant itself has a lot of potential. I've also heard that by december adesso is going to be a destination resturant due to new talent in the kitchen.

Despite the great-looking decor and excellent location, this restaurant is a definite miss. One must look past the smoke and mirrors to the very generic menu and simply bad food. Even the Caprese salad was bad -- with cheap ingredients and bland flavor. The portion size isn't anything to speak of, either.
The owners really have to get their act together quickly before the buzz of this new and shiny restaurant wears off.
