545 is nothing less than an amazing experience with lots of awesome people! My husband and I had dinner there and we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Our bartender, mandy, was hilarious and took awesome care of us and everyone around her. Scallops were to die for, along with the largest and most juicy pork chop you have ever seen! The copper bar is beautiful too. Its a must go!

My wife and I went to 545 North to enjoy a nice Friday evening dinner without the kids. We were seated in the front area, next to the bar, where 80% of the tables in the restaurant are located. The guys sitting at the bar were SO LOUD, we couldn't hear the waiter, let alone have a conversation with my wife. The food was average, and expensive. We decided to go to 545 North, because we had a gift card. I wouldn't go back unless they were the only place open....and I was desparate. Too loud, too average, and too pricey. Save your money, and enjoy a conversation with the others at your table by going anywhere else in the Chicagoland area.

I went to 545 for lunch and the burger i had was amazing! I love the crispy onions. It was also pretty cool to be able to watch the nice plasma T.V. and eat my lunch.

Our new favorite restaurant with out having to go downtown. Great atmosphere, great food, good wine list. Love the outdoor seating. Suggest a reservation. Centrally located with good parking in back. May be hard for out of towners to find. My choice for local dinner with out of town guests.

Nice Fiday night dinner spot -close to home, centally located, easy parking and great decor. I had the scallops for an appetizer - loved them! Tender and meaty! For an entree I chose the rack of lamb - very nice, but a little less mint would be better. We enjoyed it! I had lunch the week before and was very pleased with the selections. Great place!

Compared to other places in LC, the prices were more in line with what you get - say compared to MonkeyDish ($$$$). The food was OK, nothing to write home about...I think if the chef made just a little more effort, it could be better. It was like everything was just 'plopped' on the dish, and with some very ordinary garnish...like they ran down the street to Jewel to get veggies, or salad mix. It guess it's ok if you don't feel like cooking at home - but survey says, you can make this stuff at home for less and most likely do a better job of it. Maybe someday Lake County will get a non-chain restaurant that truely is good. This ain't the place.

Tried it out for the first time last nite. Got seated promptly as walk-ins on a relatively busy friday nite, although we were advised reservations would be a good idea in the future. Skip the pizza app, but defintely try the short ribs or the beef skewers. Had lamb and char for dinner. Both were great. Apple fritters were recommended for desert and did not dissappoint. I enjoyed myself and felt the staff was fairly knowledgeable about he wine list. Seemed to be a nice group of regulars at the bar too. We would both go again.

Chicago prices for a Not Chicago experience. Great place to go if you are too lazy to drive downtown. This place has an uppety up waft, unfortunately neither the food, drinks, or staff live up to the image. What bar that you know of still charges for ice ($1) in a mixed drink? Great place to recommend to your other friends.

In a word, AWESOME! I'm an area local and have been very cruous to check out 545. Since the restaurant has barely been open six months, and based on some of the reviews I've read here, I went in very unsure of what to expect. Fortunately I was blown away by all aspects of the restaurant. Sure, I waited 15 minutes at the bar for my 7:30 reservation (nice to finally find a restaurant in Libertyville that takes them), and frankly that was fine. I've never been to a restaurant where I haven't waited 10-15 minutes for my reservation to be filled. Try city dinning where 15-30 is standard on a reservation, if you're lucky to get one!! So I had a drink at the copper bar which was pretty cool, although it was pretty busy at the time and not very easy to find a seat.

(.. cont.) After we were sat our service was prompt and courteous. We started with the short rib and the bacon scallops. I couldn't believe the short rib was just an appetizer! Next time it might be my entree!! The scallops were perfect. Too many places overcook theirs, thank God rubbery scallops are NOT on the menu at 545. For our entrees, I had the 8 oz filet, which was amazing, both tasting and the preparation. My husband had the basil chicken. Wow. After that dinner, we were too full for dessert, but the menu looked very appealing. I can't wait to go back for dessert. The bill was comperable to most restaurants of the same, and cheaper than some in the area that don't have the same quality food. My only complaint is that I didn't know I could order the mashed potates with truffle oil that comes with the basil chicken, with any entree. I guess there's always next time. Like Jim said, not sure what these others are eating, but take it from a foodie with extensive downtown dinning experience, 545 is a nice change of pace for the North suburbs.
