I was so excited to try Fiddlehead after reading the reviews. I was highly dissapointed--the soup special was all cream and no pumpkin flavor and the lamb shank was not too tasty either. The staff was a bit too eager to clear the plates and fill the water. The flights of wine were fun and the Sangria was yummy, but that's about it.

This place is amazing! We went for the food, and found out the service is excellent as well. Our bartender, Nick, was gracious and gentle and offered us a few laughs to compliment the meal. He was knowledgeable about the wines and offered great pairing suggestions. Go here. If for nothing else, get some laughs from Nick.

Mmmmm. I find myself quietly saying the words -- Persian feta from the Yarra Valley Dairy in Australia -- and I can almost bring back the taste. The scene: Fiddlehead, the trendy, aspiring restaurant on Lincoln just down the block from the Old Town School of Folk Music. The time: Monday evening about 8 p.m. The plate: a flight of three cheeses, including the aforementioned Persian/Australian/Greek-sounding cheese. We also got some tasty pate. But lets pass over over that, and the hard cheese and the 10-year old cheddar (not bad), and get right to it: this Persian feta has been marinated in garlic and oil so it's soft and spreadable and, really, not feta-like at all. To properly accompany the cheese, Fiddlehead gives you a basket with a couple kinds of fresh bread (graciously refilled, thank you). Heaven! This was a great way to top off an evening learning swing dance (my companion) or hanging out (me) at the school. To top off the topping off, we shared a decadent chocolate creation that came with a mini-scoop of cinnamon ice cream. Yum. The next table made some comment about their dessert and the chef came out to chat. This is a neat place! Fiddlehead has a wondrous menu of appetizers, entres, and desserts plus various cheese and wine flights that sound great. But the words keep ringing in my head... Persian feta, Persian feta, Persian feta. Skip

This is a "not spot." Although the wine and cheese lists are brilliant, the food is lackluster.

This place has a huge wine list and the markups are small, go have a bottle and some cheese !!
