UNBELIEVABLE!
Woke too early-and hungry. Remembered a review about a tamale joint that opened early a.m. Googled CenterStage and headed south on Clark. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY. Bright Cheerful Clean Fast and OUT OF THIS WORLD. Steaming hot authentic tamales. Succulent morsels of chicken or pork in a zippy salsa verde or milder rojo- a drier but every-bit-as-good bean and cheese or jalapeno and cheese...Passed on the fruit- gotta keep some suspense for next time. This place is something to reminisce about when you're old and gray. DON'T MISS

These are honestly the BEST tamales I have ever eaten - always tasty, never dry, and over the 3 years that I have been coming there, the quality is always consistent. Wherever you live in the city or suburbs, this place is definitely worth the trip - the restaurant is comfortable and always spotlessly clean and the waitress is extremely friendly - it's just such a nice place to sit and enjoy DELICIOUS tamales, and spend almost NO MONEY. For $3.00 you can get an entree tamale (beans or meat), a dessert one (strawberry or pineapple) and a huge glass of horchata - the perfect meal!
