The atmosphere at Coco Pazzo was inviting and warm; the exposed brick walls, beam ceiling, and floor to ceiling deep blue velvet curtains draping the many windows add to the rustic yet refined charm of the space. The food, however, is good but not outstanding. The antipasti misto was fresh and tasty but not inspired. The Insalata Tuscana was a highlight dressed with olive and lemon oil, with lots of tangy goat cheese, grapes, and toasted pine nuts. I tried three of the pasta dishes, a manila clam pasta, a rigatoni with sausage, and a shrimp pasta. The standout was the clam pasta, although it was not exceptional. The flavors of the pasta dishes, overall, were bland and not overly impressive. In fact, the rigatoni looked like it might have come out of a can; the sauce was too thick and in the way of the taste of the other ingredients in the dish. Following the main, the gelato sampler and spumoni were fabulous, as was the espresso. Overall, the service was good, although our head waiter was not; using a condescending tone and making slightly strange remarks won him no fans at the table. In sum, the experience at Coco Pazzo was pleasent, but the food was not exceptional. I probably would not go there again under my own steam. (For our party of four, with 2 glasses of wine a piece and half portions of the main, the bill came to about $200.)

Wow ! What a great place ! I finally made it to Coco Pazzo and I will go back. The service was great, Sergio always "keeps his eye on you" - it was really funny somebody next to us asked him where does he keep the other one:) The food was excellent,it is in a great part of the city with all the galleries...it cannot get any better. I highly recommend it.

AWFUL!!! I will NEVER be returning! The food was blah, the waiters/waitresses were unattentive, and the people in the restaurant were horrifying.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. It is elegant, consistent, and always a high quality evening. We are deeply saddened that Pilli Pilli has closed.

What a great place and the food is outstanding. I brought my wife and son for dinner for my wife's birthday, and not knowing what to expect, I was blown away. From the appetizers to the wine to the main courses, everything was great. The attention to detail was very impressive. The staff was very attentive, and friendly, making me feel right at home. I could not have asked for more.

We had been fans of Coco Pazzo, using it for business as well as personal dining. Until last night we considered it one of Chicago's better restaurants. Last night the food was good at best but the sevice was fair at best. We had to ask for bread pour our own wine and wait for the entree. The worst was being seated next to the wait station which in itself was not terrible but the wait staff's use of it was. Leaning over my shoulder to get plates instead of gong to the other side, throwing silverware in to drawers and talking louding around it were just a few of the porblems. Needless to say we have written the restaurant off our list.

Awful! The "special" of snapper, halibut and calimari was overcooked, served with some lettuce, grapes and canned peaches, and had NO taste. I complained, and they removed it from my bill. The pork chops were uncooked in their pink centers, and we returned them to the kitchen. They were returned burned to a crisp. The chef knows nothing of spices and the elements that produce taste. Even the wine I ordered, a Chardonnay at the low ened, was poor. I can get a much better meal at a local pub for 1/10 the price. Unfortunately, this is my second BAD experience with this restaurant. Last time was Christmas Eve, when it was crowded with screaming babies, and the soup, usually a forte, was served lumpy and cold. I WON'T GO BACK TO COCO PAZZO'S.
