I am so very sad CBI no longer exists. I have had many a happy evening there. It will be greatly missed. Thanks for all the fun times.

another victim of the ever increasing poverty population.what once was a thriving well kept italin neighborhood is now like the ever increasing trend has being overrun by the minority that is taking over like cockroachs .the only reason that the cbi closed was not for lack of business but for the fear of the surrounding neighborhood..never was the place empty...unfortunatly it was supported by the outside people from near and far communities..once there it was like a second home .... but leaving and going to you car was nothing more then fearing for your life and safety wondering if your car was stolen and a victim of vandalizing..how many more magical places will be gone due to this....this was a place that happened only once in a lifetime... besides the fact the the burgers were the best in the U.S.....the is not the only other restaurant to fall victim to the changing of a neighorhood...how many more will fall..in the months to come drive by and see what will be there..no the proud restaurant that stood for years but probably a low income scumbag housing project....with now memory of what had been.....only the search for where to get the next tequila....well anyways if I sound bitter i am.this is not the 1st and not the last but the best of many establishments to fall to the needs of a community that doesnt belong here and doesnt contribute anything to the communtiy....farewell COMEBACK INN.maybe we will see you in the next lord of rings and the next GRENN DRAGON INN

We have been going there regularly for at least 38-40 years. We used to have lunch there every Wednesday for years. I ran many a retirement and Christmas party there over the years. This is a heavy blow indeed. Could they have been a victim of the changing neighborhood? Certainly, the most common rhetoric when Come Back Inn was mentioned was "gee, I haven't been there in years".
The Come Back Inn will be sorely missed. There truly is no equal, no substitute. Its passing will leave a void that cannot, will not be filled.

My brother-in-law, (who introduced me to the CBI) & I were discussing that they were "closed for remodeling" on Saturday night, so my wife & I decided to take a quick ride over there to get the REAL story... Sad to say, the CBI is NO MORE. And I don't just mean it's closed. The WHOLE FREAKIN' BUILDING has been demolished!!! Didn't even look like there was any rubble remaining. The only thing I saw on the property was an excavator standing tall, almost in homage to the kodiak bear that once stood proud on site. Why do bad things happen to good places?!?!?! What will I miss most? Sitting in front of the fire, drinking a beer from one of those cool mugs they had, and munching on basket upon basket of peanuts. I think being allowed to throw the shells on the floor somehow makes them taste that much better!

I can't believe it the phone is disconnected. I have been going there since 1965 - it is a legend with my family - celebrating birthdays and just having a great time. Oh NO !

Called their phone today 11/9/04.
The phone forwards and the message says we are closed as of today (????) for remodeling and will reopen soon. Watch for our ads.

like all good tv programs, theater plays and eatery's that i like (and i should throw in presidental canidates.) i seem to have the nack for picking one that will fold. it was a great place. anyone knowing who is selling same let me know. would make a great crib! the neighborhood is pretty trashed so it should be cheep!!

Please let it not be true!! I've been going there since I was a kid...truly a local legend in Pub style food. They will be missed.
