I just got through listening to Vic Berton and His Orchestra on the http://www.redhotjazz.com website. These recordings were made in such a way as to be able to hear the drum work but not be overpowered by it. These songs are good listening and the drum work sounds great! It's awesome to think that these recordings were made in 1935 and the artists are long gone and here I am enjoying their music in 2004. Jazz really is timeless.
