Terrific pastries, great space, bitter espresso drinks. The scones are fantastic and the staff is great.

Jessica's review is about perfect. Sweet Cakes is fabulous. I too tried the lemon pepper chive scone along with a chocolate cupcake and they were both excellent. You should really check this place out.

I stopped by Sweet Cakes for its opening day. All the goods were baked fresh and warm; the space is very inviting with free wi-fi, large windows, and comfortable seating; and the owners were extremely friendly. The coffee is delicious and strong (and locally roasted, I hear), and the outdoor patio will soon have a swing. I highly recommend the lemon pepper chive scone, especially if you're into savory goods. It seems as though Sweet Cakes will shape up to be a warm, comfortable, consistently excellent neighborhood bakery. P.S. to any vegans out there: Sweet Cakes provides several vegan goods. Just ask!
