Pretty course but they need to bulldoze at least half the greens. If they ever had fast putting surfaces the course would be unplayable. Play one of the Cog courses instead.

Big Run is a great layout. Bring your tee ball and get ready for some impossible putts and a 5 or more hour round, since there are no rangers and speedy play is unknown at this course.

Big Run lives up to its name. This course is for the better player. Its condition this year with all the rain is breathtaking. Monster driver holes over 600 yards. Beautiful rolling, an understatement, terrain with towering oak trees intimidate and challenge. It is well trapped with creeks just where you don't want them. Excellent fast rolling tiered greens may never stop. Clubhouse is modest, while the managers are friendly and give weather information with a smile. Great fun course this year. My birthday gift.

Big Run is a great golf course for the money. The staff are very accommodating. The course is DIFFICULT and aesthetically very pretty. Rookie golfers should not play this course (it is beyond their skill set, come back when you are better). Weekends you are looking at 5 hr rounds. Yes it has GPS and it works well. This has been my favorite course for several years & I have played most of the public courses in the Chicagoland area. If you break par you should be a professional looper. Hit em straight.

IF YOU PLAY YOUR BALL DOWN THIS IS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST COURSES YOU WILL PLAY ANYWHERE. YOU NEED TO PLAY THE COURSE SEVERAL TIMES TO UNDERSTAND BREAKS IN THE GREENS(SEVERE UNDULATION) AND LOCATION OF DRIVES. STAFF EXPECTS GOLFERS THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING PEOPLE THAT NEED THEIR HAND HELD NEED NOT APPLY. UNLESS YOU ARE A PRO PLAY FROM THE WHITE TEES---GREAT EXPERIENCE

A beautiful course that is equally chalenging. The management was fair and honest. I say this because I don't like playing a 5+ hour rounds. THe manager told us it would play long on the weekends, so we were prepared. I'd probably only play this course on the weekdays. For the rest of the golfing population leave your ego at home. If you are a mid handicapp (True) play the whites its plenty chalenging, you wont get fustrated and we'll all play faster. Make no mistake this is a tough course. Im an 11 handicapp (Solid, True) I played the whites and shot 88, 7 shots over my handicapp. My girlfriend is a 5 and she shot 82, 6 shots over handicapp. This course is rated significantly over par nearly 2 stroke and is a 138 from the white. That is a chalenging course!

Nice course....certainly very challenging with a number of nice, unique holes.....management seemed pretty disorganized.....I'd play there again because it's a nice course, but would hope the customer service is a bit better next time

For $67.00, the course should be in much better shape. The fairways are cut far too long, the rough is almost nonexistent, and the greens are so-so. The course is difficult, but it's mostly just trees and tight fairways. For the money, I'd recommend elsewhere.

Far and away the best value for an extremely challenging course. A physical and mental challenge. Elevated greens that require coming in with some long irons. Even the easiest holes are sneaky tough. It is also one of the prettiest courses to play if you like fall golf. This is a great course to bring your buddies that talk a big game, it certainly humbles you.
