we moved to the city about 2 1/2 years ago. my first time at ollie's, i will admit i was taken aback by being the only white people in the bar. but after a few drinks and a few times going i have come to really love this place. i would almost call it my second home and alternate family. miss ollie herself is one in a million and she will always remember you and ask how you are. we call her momma ollie. the bartenders are just as nice and always remember your drink even before you need to ask for one. and the drinks are a good price as well. the patrons, mostly black, are like family and very unintimidating. stepping is the main dance at this bar. and the small dance floor is always packed. music ranges from r&b, rap, disco, hip hop, blues, country, and 70's rock. there is a dj fri, sat and sometimes sun night. there is a pool table in the back and regular pool tournaments. it is a dive bar, just to be clear, but one of the best i have been to.
