The atmosphere and crowd were great but the parade itself was poorly exectuted and boring. Long gaps between floats, boring double decker busses filled with random non famous people waving half heartedly at the crowd. Unknown Disney performers and bands that did not even play while marching in this short parade. Terrible planning and execution for a good idea. Huge Huge crowd. Needs work.

The Festival of Lights is amazing. If you like big cities and lights then you should not miss this event in Chicago. It truly puts me in the spirit of the season. I do recommend getting reservations for a restaurant or expect to wait a really long time to get into restaurants in the area since it draws a lot of people. With that said, if you don't like big crowds then don't bother. Also, do not take your car into the city since many rodes are blocked. Opt for the train.
