Not so much a student bar as an alternative the student bars, as well as to the swankier 7/10 Lanes, farther west on 55th, and Bar Louie, just around the corner to the south. No food, the college coed is an endangered species, and the spirit of inquiry or reverence for tradition which characterizes the University of Chicago is largely absent. Proof is in the monopoly on the jukebox that a few Beyonce, Phil Collins, and Creed fans have gained and maintain up to the present.
