One word describes this place, EXCELLENTE! I visted this place on a Monday and not only was the food excellent, but the live music was an added bonus. The ambiance was very relaxing and I was able to enjoy great food, wonderful service and a pleasant staff. Try the mango appetizer with crab, tuna and squid....mmmmm

The restaurant is upper scale, excellent service, nice atmosphere. They have music; live band, which is relaxing! Although I have to say that I was not impressed with the food. The presentation is excellent, but the food quality is not! It claims to be a Latin restaurant with different combinations of flavor. That is just lies, its just mexican food. And its not very satisfying! Its also expensive, and its not original! Its just a restaurant that has a desire to please the white crowd and stealing their money! You can have mexican food at other restaurants for way more than half than at cuatro! I would never return here, because the food is not tasty. I just have to stress that its not original food. Im hispanic, and I can tell you of so many more places to go where its really satisfying! This place was not worth it. Im just clueless why it gets so manny good reviews, when in reality it blows!! Not good, dont go and waste ur money!!

I seem to have a new favorite South Loop restaurant each month and this month it's Cuatro. I had lunch there today and started with delicious empanadas(2) filled with pork and black beans and served with warm hominy and spinach salad with guajillo escabeche sauce. (This appetizer is perfect for 2). Next I had a huge piece of grilled salmon over wilted spinach with coconut rice served on a banana leaf. So good. My friend had giant burger with bacon, jalapeƱo chihuahua cheese with lettuce, tomato and red onions on a pan de fiesta bun with chimichurri mayo. It was served with really yummy plantain fries. I don't usually order ice cream for dessert but you have to try the homemade pistachio praline. It was so good, my friend says she can't believe they don't package it to well in stores. I'm planning on going back soon for dinner and I will definitely try the other flavors.

Delightful spot that invites the dapperly dressed to wine and dine in a low-key, stylish setting. The friendly servers and waitstaff checked on us often. Our server, Jose, knows about everything on the menu. He even helped us pick out a nice red wine to go with our dinner. There are amazing specials during the week (i.e. half-priced bottles of wine) and live music on the weekends. Whether going for coctails and appetizers or the full three courses, everything on the menu is sure to please. I highly recommend the coctel vuelve a la vida for starters. And make sure you ask for extra chips. They are delicious!!

Great mix of neighborhood cool and trendy chic. Food is fantastic and service is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend it.

Friendly, attentive service from staff who were willing to humor our halting Spanish, terrific food (all three courses, but especially the desserts which were outstanding) and reasonable prices make this restaurant a great addition to the slowly developing restaurant scene in the South Loop.

Awesome, even better once booze is a part, food A+, atomsphere A, Service great! It is nice to go to a new place in Chicago where your partonage is truly appreciated. Please try a gem in the south loop.

The only negative is the lack of parking, which they are addressing.
