We had reservations for 2 on a Saturday night, they had us wait at the bar for 15 minutes or so then sat us with 2 different menus -after first asking us if we could share a menu. We waited 25 minutes or so for a waiter to even notice us, and another 35-40 minutes for our food to come - and it came wrong, so I sent it back as I had ordered rosemary not mushrooms that make me very ill... 2 minutes later the chicken came back rinsed off with new sauce, but all the other food was still in mushroom sauce, so I sent it back again....and again it came with mushroom sauce...at this point we had been there 2 hours and I was over it, upon leaving the owner chased us down on the street to ask why we didn't tip... All and all a terrible expericene I would never reccomend this, nor would I ever go back. poor experience all around.

True Paris in Chicago, albeit that the chef-owner is from Bergerac! The food is outstanding. He serves the best charcuterie variety in Chicago and the nicest cheese platter for those of us who need to watch the carbs. Standard "grandms's kitchen" offerings like rabbit, tripe, and sweetbreads stand alongside the rotisserie chicken and duck and excellent daily specials. The service can be quirky, depending on the server, but the food never disappoints and the host is #1. Wines will not cripple you in price.

On Tuesday at about 6PM we visited Cyrano's for the first time. After reading several poor reviews about Cyrano's we were a bit unsure of what to expect. However it turned out to be a great visit the food, service and atmosphere were outstanding . Special thanks to our server Cate who made the visit extra special.

Unlike the other reviewers on here, I had the worst dining experience at Cyrano's Bistrot and Wine Bar. The food itself was good but the service was awful. To begin with, my reservations were at 8pm on Friday night for 3 people. We got to the restaurant on time and were told they are running 20 minutes behind. After about 30 minutes we were shown to our table. Although Cyrano's website claims that you can order their 4-course meals a la carte (none of us have huge appetites) we were told that because of Bastille Day celebrations, everyone has to order 4-course meals. After waiting forever for our server, Nadia, to come back to get our orders, we did not receive our first course until 9:45 PM. Meanwhile, the table of two behind us came in at least 15 minutes after us and had finished their 4 courses and left when we were on our 3rd course, and by the time we left at 11pm, another table of 4 was in the middle of their 3rd course. It was 90 degrees that day and the restaurant had shut down the fan above us because balloons were stuck in it. We were sweating like pigs until I complained and they finally turned on the A/C. To add insult to injury, I'd given Nadia a 3% tip (she claimed it took them so long to serve us because we got to the restaurant at a busy time while those after us got there when they were less busy) but I just checked my bank account only to find out that she charged my card 20% that I did not authorize. There is no way we will ever go back there again.

Didier is a wonderful chef and is loved by many. His food is absolutely to die for! I am always excited to try new dishes he has prepared and I have not been disappointed yet. I give him 5 stars.

We went to Cyrano's for the first time this week and were very pleased. Everything had been prepared with obvious care and love of tradition, with a little experimenting thrown in. How can you not like a place that has foie gras, lobster bisque, steak frites, creme brulee, and all kinds of wines by the glass? This is not really a bistro but a solid French dining experience - tab for 2 will definitely run upwards of $100. The service was a little retarded as were some of the patrons, but the staff was sincere in their desire to please. In all we were not disappointed, will definitely be back, and will recommend to others!

Four of us went on Friday after work based on several factors including the menu featured on-line. The most incredibly rude host was appaled that we did not have a reservation, even though it was only 5:30. His disgust with us became painfully obvious when we decided to keep our coats instead of checking them. We did have a good laugh about it though. Key items featured in the on-line menu were not available. We ended up having soup and salad, which were both good. We may have been biased about this since we were starving, as our waitress seemed to have forgotten our existence several times (which was hard to believe since our ever gracious host sat us right next to the kitchen).

Being one of this bistro's first customers, we did all possible to keep this diamond hidden. We knew it would become a hit, and we did notwant to fight the mob when it did. Well, now three years and many accolades later, we must wait...but it is all worth it. Cheers to our wonderful hosts Chef Ditier & his bride.

Cyrano's is our home-away-from-home kitchen: authentic bistrot fare served in a truly enjoyable atmosphere. Didier and Jamie, the owners, are usually in the restaurant and make everyone feel welcome. When they have skate wing, it's not to be missed. And save room for dessert!

Being in the Hospitality industry and having visited Cyrano's on several occassions I have not only found it to be exceptionally good in its food, but also in its personable service and great ambience. I always reccomend this french restaurant to all my friends. I will be back soon. Thank you for bringing Cyrano's to Chicago.
