I went here on a sunday night and was not impressed by the service, but would go back for another try at the food. I was expecting more barbecue in my pulled chicken platter, but the chicken came out bone dry and we were given 2 types of sauce to choose from on the table. A reddish hot bbq sauce and a vinegar based white sauce. While both were good I was really in the mood for something sweeter and smokier. As far as the service goes it was pretty disappointing. There was one woman who was both working the bar and waiting tables. After our food came out she never stopped by to check on the table or see if we needed new drinks. I would ignore this had the place been busy, but there were less than 10 people in the restaurant/at the bar, and the server was more concerned with watching the golden globes than helping us out. I liked the food and would go back to try some other menu items but I don't think it will be anytime too soon.

went to Risque Cafe the other night and had a great time! things seem to have improved since they first opened 3 months ago. the beer list is MASSIVE, & there are at least 10 more beers on draft. the bartenders were great at finding the right beers for my friend and me. even with some drunken cubs fans present, it's definitely different from the other bars in the neighborhood. appetizers were 1/2 price this day, so we had the pretzel (served w/ beer cheese sauce) and the smoked chicken wings (really smoky, fall-off-the-bone meat). their TV's had some risque flicks playing, old grindhouse style (w/ nudity) and b-horror movies... more entertaining than just watching sports. next time i'm in the neighborhood, i will definitely stop in risque.

This is just a sad, effortless attempt at a bbq restaurant.
The service was rude and dismissive. The hostess(?) was irritated that we didn't sit immediately. Instead we greeted the people that we were meeting there (this is a bar) and she walked by and asked if we were staying. I said we were and she handed me the menus and said, "Then you can do this"-as in, then I can seat us and bring menus to the table. Once we were served, the food didn't look right so we questioned the server who literally ignored us and walked away. When they dropped off the check and we tried to use a credit card, they told us that they don't accept them. No signs were posted, no warning given by the server. Luckily, we had enough cash between us, but not everyone that goes out on a Friday night brings enough cash to cover the bill. When we mentioned that to one of the employees, he looked through us, muttered "Yeah" and walked away.
The food was bad. The pulled pork is pork, but not pulled. Instead, it is cubed, which did not make for an easy to eat sandwich. The sauce is store bought and there wasn't a hint of smoke in any of the food that any of us ate.
We got poor service, poor food, and the place itself is boring-just a bunch of high cocktail tables and chairs. We overlooked the less-than-knowledgable staff, the drab interior, the fact that they had no lemons, limes, or iced tea. I just can't get beyond the beligerent service, bad food and indifference.
