In November of 2007 I find that Allen McQuaid's and many other's Russo fans hope is still unfullfilled. I have for decades been hunting for the "School of Rebellion" LP or CD. I remains one of the classic works of modern jazz and belongs in very library.

William Russo's short piece "Tanglewood," composed for his young daughter Camille and recorded on the School Of Rebellion LP, is for me the most harmonically rich dedication tone poem he wrote. I'm not enough of a musicologist to understand all the progressions and changes, but it speaks to me of the deepest emotions and complexities amid the simplicity.
And School Of Rebellion is the quintessential Bill Russo collection. It is my hope that someone will reissue the stereo version on CD.
