I love Japanese Steakhouses. I am from FL and when I moved here could not find one for the life of me. I was happy when my husband found Hamada. We went and the food was REALLY good. I was very happy to know that they have something called seafood sauce, known in FL as shrimp sauce, for me to eat with my sushi. We've been quite a few times over the last year and really enjoy it. No complaints here. The service has always been really good, the food is always really good, and the chef's are usually funny.

I dined at Hamada in Tinley Park last night after noticing it near my hotel. I am traveling alone for business, so I was seated at a Hibachi table with 2 couples. Our chef was fun to watch and the food tasted great, but that's where my fun ended. The waitress dropped to-go boxes, ice cream and the check within just a few minutes of our food coming off the grill. She seemed irritated when I asked for a water refill and asked if I needed any change when I handed her $60 on a $42 tab. They started vacuuming the floor while myself and one of the couples were still eating, and then had a crew throwing down carpet cleaning solution which we had to step over on our way to the door. When I called the manager to complain this morning, he said "it happened because they hired a carpet cleaning crew to come in last night". Not a satisfactory answer! They should not have seated us (45 minutes prior to their posted closing time) if they planned to rush us out and clean while we were dining. I worked in restaurants for years, and none of this poor customer service would have flown with my managers! I was happier spending $10 instead of $50 and eating Buffalo Wild Wings in my hotel room tonight.
