Wow! The pizza we got from Great Lake redefined pizza for me as I know it in Chicago. The focus is on the freshest and highest quality ingredients. And the difference in taste makes this by far the best in Chicago.
We had the Sopressata Pizza (fresh mozzarella, sauce, and salami). I prefer a traditional crust pizza. The crust is just a little thicker than the body of the slice and has the right proportion of crunchy to soft. And it tastes great. The mozzarella is fresh and delicious. And there's plenty of it. The sopressetta pie that we tried is like pepperoni without being too salty or oily. The size pie we ordered was enough for me and my wife and we had 2 slices left over. Great Lake pizza is now my favorite pizza place in Chicago. I highly recommend it.
