I've been to Graham Elliot twice now and it's quite a breath of fresh air. The dining room is warm and inviting; a comfortable place to dine. I was a big fan of Avenues and Chef Bowles' food is as creative and fun as ever and supremely executed, while still adhering to his desire to make everything a little more fun than expected! The service on my first visit had a couple of hiccups, but it was a night during their pre-opening phase and they were still working out the kinks...The second time the service staff seemed more relaxed, and while not amazing, service was professional and personable. The food was great on both occasions; really fun and delicious. I had a the pork...my oh my, they should call that thing Porkzilla! Insanely large, bring a friend to help. The caesar was fun and tasty, The buffalo chicken is to die for and the gooey chocolate brownie was a really delicious dessert, but the best part was the ice cream, it came equipped with a perfect example of peanut butter ice cream. So much of Chef Bowles' food is whimsically serious, always inspired and humbly presented. Chef Bowles gave me a tour of the brand new kitchen (GORGEOUS) and selflessly spoke of the level of dedication of his team. Any compliment paid to him was autmatically deferred to his team, a rare quality in people (let alone chefs) these days. I'll be back soon. I am excited to see what the next menu will bring...foie gras egg rolls or something???
