A few friends and I were excited to try the Counter. I am a big burger fan, and my friends Lesley and Rich appreciate my favorite food as well. I agree with the above review in that I was impressed with the selection of toppings, sauces and breads. I thought that the avocado was a little overpriced, but that's neither here no there when one considers the most important facet of burger quality: the meat. In that regard, all the toppings in the world are irrelevant.
All three of us agreed that for all the hype surrounding the Counter, the meat quality could have been better, and better prepared. It's nice having quality toppings, but for anyone to call this the best burger, the meat quality needs to be there. On our first trip, it wasn't. Granted, this was shortly after opening, so maybe they have improved in the meantime, and I will go back and give it another shot. However, those are my first impressions.
