Opening an uber-hip, flashy restaurant in an uber-hip hotel in the middle of the recession is not a good idea. Somehow, though, these guys are able to make it work by restraining the opulence just enough to feel luxurious but not ostentatious. More importantly, while the food is interesting and elegant, the flavors are all about Tuscan Italian comfort, which at the end of the day is what you need to ease our jobless, penny-pinching minds...
