I stopped @ a gas station on Clark (Roger's Park,Chicago)saw my daughter's boyfriend and mentioned; "I wish I could find a good fish taco in the area" He said, "ever tried El FAM? It's the bomb!!(Mind you I've been in the neighborhood for 30 yrs, never heard of the place). I went that night--Oh My GOD! I've been searching for a good fish taco for about 3 years. It was awesome, Tilipia was fresh and so were the other ingredients (I add onion & cilantro). I only eat fish, so I can't speak on the other dishes but the fish taco is "THE BOMB"!

I grew up thinking this is what a burrito should be. I went there tonight and relized how little I knew as a drunk teenager. This was the worst food I have eating in many years. The meat was fatty yet some how very dry. The suizo was a pennys worth and the overall taste was like eating meximush. I would say that when your on Clark St. there are soo many places that do a better job pick anyone of them and you will enjoy much more than this filth.

El Famous is one of the best things about Chicago. I love that place.
Oh, and as for the Big Burrito; Rick moved to Kalamazoo, MI when the BB got closed down by the health department.

I live in the West Loop in Chicago and was walking my dog down the street and to my great suprise a sign for El Famous Burrito coming soon!!! I grew up in the suburbs and used to go to the Downers Grove one all of the time. I am very excited for this opening, does anyone know when it will be??? It is on W. Madison just over the highway....

Hey, I wanna write a review for El Famous Burrito on ARCHER RD, IN SUMMIT. it is by far, the best famous burrito, around provided you know how to order. Get the chile relleno with melted cheese on top and a torta al pastor. Together, the go great. Other than that, I'd have to be on crack to say that El Famoso has great food. Me and my buddies Elias and Roberto go there after a long night of work to unwind. We're not expecting great food or even decent service. We go to pay homage to Senor Famoso and perpetuate the Tradicion. If you don't understand that, it's ok, there are only two other people than myself who do. Viva El famoso. And get those asshole gangbangers off the streets of Archer in Summit. I wanna enjoy my torta without worrying about gettin' fuckin shot.

my order last night was horrible the beef on the nachos had a burnt taste today we had tacos the steak was tough and very dissapointing Ive been coming here since the day Billy opened

This resturant is one of the best Mexican resturants I have ever been to. The people that run the business gives great service, produces a great product, at a great price. I have been eating at this please since the late 80's. When ever I go to another Mexican resturant I always compare it to El Famous Burrito. They really set the bar high for other mexican resturants to get to.

I've tried El Famous,and it was good. But There is even a better place called Buenas Nachos in Frankfort, IL 444 south Lagrange Rd. Ugghhh amazing!! (815) 469-8353

Do not go to the one in Elmhurst. The burrito meat was burnt and dryed out.
