I was thinking about miuscal thunder. There's The Delicate Sound of Thunder, a recording by Pink Floyd; there's an AC/DC song about Thunder, there's a Fleetwood Mac song, Thunder only happens when it rains. And an old Bob Seger song that informs us, We felt the lightning/ waited on the thunder. What am I forgetting here?

I really love this place! It's been a while since I've been there. Does anyone know if they still sell frozen Snickers at the bar?

My band played at the Elbo Room last night (www.myspace.com/screamsofwinter. We had a great crowd and the people working there were some of the nicest people I've ever met. Great venue to play and its got a good underground vibe to it. I look forward to playing there again.

I went to a hip-hop show starring ANONYMOUS THE GREAT and AWDAZCATE, two of the dopest, up and coming emcees in Chicago... The event was called "Black Label Presents: Hip-Hop Music." Some of the most talented rappers were there. I had a great time.

The Elbo Room is a fantastic place to play and see new music. They treat the bands with a great deal of respect and overall it's a great vibe.

I enjoy the Elbo Room very much. They have frozen Snickers bars. Not everyone knows about this.

Terrible place to play. They treat bands (especially first timers) like garbage. The sound man is an asshole (though a competent sound guy), the doorman worse. If you want to pretend you've hit the "big time" by playing these rip-off "showcase" clubs, be my guest. I'd rather find a friendly neighborhood bar open to having a band and build my audience that way. These places (The Beat Kitchen - which used to be cool - is another one) can do nothing for you because they have no walk-in crowd. They are just fishing for your audience and are willing to hand you a big bag of shit in the process.
I've played many real music venues (Fitzgerald's, Schuba's) and have been treated like a million bucks, even when not drawing a huge crowd. Didn't have to duck to keep from braining myself on the stage, either.

SUITCASE 72 is a great band that played there before more than a few times as DIVE, and always had a great crowd. This bar is in a great neighborhood. Please, guys, I don't know if you read these, but please come back and play at some of the bars out here again. Me and my 30 closest friends will be waiting...

I've been to elbo room as both a customer and with a band. Guess I should've learned the first time. The beer from the tap is horrible/metallic tasting--Do you guys clean those things. Also, they don't treat bands the way they should, sound guy usually has quite an attitude, and you end up having to pay him, that's the kicker
