Had the pleasure of seeing singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock along with Tim Edwards and Captain John Keegan. They devoted this set at Old Town School, Sat. Nov, 15, to tracks from the album: "I Often Dream of Trains". Hitchcock happily babbles extraneous thoughts about politics, faith and aging between each song to set a mood and keep us entertained. but it's his lyrical epiphanies about travel, love and autumn that keep us cemented and never overshadow his sometimes sandpaper, often swashbuckling vocals. Tim Edwards deftly springboards between horn, keys and bass - Captain Keegan - masterfully strums his guitar with the intensity of a newborn's first cry. by Lisa Torem

greetings from Downunder. I saw Urge Overkill play last night at Corner Hotel, Melbourne Australia. I'm happy to report that UO are BACK and sounding just as good as their 1990s peek. Hard to believe but tis true! A superb show close to sell out - the new drummer and bass player have now clicked with Nash K and King R. Crowd loved it - sang all the songs, plenty of moshing and crowd surfing. "Urge Urge Urge" chants forced 3 encores and we wanted more before the pub security forced us out!! Great sound - I was standing back middle then moved to the front. So many highlights - 'Crown of Laffs', 'Take Me', '90210', 'Stalker', and my favourite 'The Candidate'. A very satisfied crowd with ringing ears after the gig. International bands love coming to Melbourne - we're loyal and sell them out. This gig will be a great morale boost to the reformed UO - I look forward to their future releases!! "c'mon and take me god damn it, take me back again!!"

Here's to spring 05, chug chug. After hanging with the fellas a couple times this year in Detroit I was almost nervous about what the future would hold for UO. I constantly hoped they would keep trecking along on their little tour in their van and allow support to grow. From what I've read it seems they've gotten enough to support to keep it rolling and I can't wait for their return from Europe so they can get in a studio. I really hope there are some labels drooling out there, as many peoples urges need to be satisfied.

Saw urge overkill on 4/30/04 at Berbatis pan in portland oregon. All I can say is these guys need to lay off the meth. NAsh looked 75 and needed a REST. I dont know how they are going to make it through this tour if they are only on the 3rd day and this tweaked out. Its a shame i had to see them, the seattle date tomorrow will eat them alive. I really hope they get off the meth and back on track. They played horrible. And ive seen them back in the day, it was great stuff.

I am looking forward to the show at the Troubadour in LA on Jan. 16th 2004. I have been listening to all my u.r.g.e. records, from strange, i... to the debutante. Hopefully all the stars and moon will be out that night!
