Since moving from the Southside to the West Coast, I don't get to see Carl very often. His show at the Sacramento Heritage Blues Festival on December 4, 2005 was outstanding. In the 70,s I used to jam with Carl at Marghee's Music store in Hammond, Indiana. It's amazing to see how far he has traveled since then. carlweathersby.org is the new site since he his dotcom site was hijacked.

During the weekend of the Chicago Blues Festival in May 2005, I had the good fortune and immense pleasure to sit up front and witness a Carl Weathersby concert on a Thursday night at Buddy Guy's Legends. It was my first visit to Chicago and I had a chance to briefly chat with him after the jam! He absolutely blew me away with his guitar wizardry and baritone vocals right on key! This man surely deserves more recognition and exposure to the masses. I am a California native born in 1955 and saw him play with Albert King in a club there as a side man in 1979, but I never new until now that he had carved out his own solo blues career until I came to Chicago. WOW!
