BEST RIBS IN TOWN. GREAT SERVICE AT THE RIGHT PRICE. THE TWO BALD DUDES THAT WORK THERE ARE A LITTLE BIZZARE..... BUT THERE IS A REASON THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR 30 YEARS--GREAT FOOD AND THEY TREAT THE CUSTOMER LIKE A KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had both babyback ribs and beef back ribs at Fireplace Inn. Fireplace Inn is one of the few restaurants in Chicago where you can get beef back ribs, which are much more popular in the Western U.S. For babyback ribs, go to Carson's instead (which I think are better than Twin Anchors also). If you like beef back ribs like me, beware at Fireplace Inn. They apparently don't pay any attention to the quality of the meat they buy. The last time I was there I had the fattiest beef ribs I've ever had; you can get leaner ribs at a grocery store. The best beef ribs I've had in Chicago were at Bandera on Michigan Ave.

While eating at Fireplace Inn, electricity was lost on most of block. Fireplace Inn told me they would only charge me for food. I signed check for $72. When I got my statement, I saw they had charged me $104. I have serious reservations regarding the benefits of the Second City Dinner and Show package at Fireplace, especially seeing that you have to order from a limited menu and carry around a letter that brands you as a "package deal".
