Just so you know, Foley's isn't a place for pretentious, jonny-come-lately types. It's crowd is representative of the rich history of the neighborhood and they are quite proud if their Chicago heritage. If you're the type that likes to sit, drink and maybe argue sports a bit Foley's is your place. However, if you prefer joints like Barleycorns, Nicks, or any downtown club this place is DEFINATELY not for you. People who are real Chicago should check this place out. It'll remind you of the tavern your grandpa hung out in!

I've never felt so unwelcome at a bar in my life. the patrons wanted us out of there the second we walked in. seth the bartender was a nice guy; too bad for him that the patrons decide who gets to give him and the bar money. instead of going to Foley's, you should go to ANY OTHER BAR IN THE WORLD.

We went to Foley's tonight for the first time and we were quite disappointed. I had read the good reviews about the establishment and had seen the sign from the street many times as I had driven by. I was with a group of friends from out of town -- and we were merely trying to kill some time waiting for a private party to finish at Timber Lanes before we could go bowling -- so we decided to get a drink at Foley's in the meantime. However, my friend accidentally bumped into a gigantic Bears helmet awkwardly balanced on top of a speaker in the corner of the bar, which teetered and eventually fell to the floor, and at that moment we nearly heard a record skip...the entire bar turned and glared at us. Several men who seemed to be bar regulars confronted us and told us not to ever touch the Bears helmet again. It was an ACCIDENT, and we didn't appreciate the unfriendly treatment, so we told them we wouldn't come back again to their establishment. At that point they said "good" and told us to go back to Lincoln Park (followed by some very rude expletives) -- which is far from the friendly atmosphere they claim. Do not go to this bar unless you are a regular, as anyone else who enters is not welcome.

Foley's is a must. It's in a great neighborhood full of great people. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The great Seth is behind the bar Wed. through Sun. nights and won't let you leave untill you've had a good time. There's always a steady crowd of regulars that will make you feel right at home. The darts are free and you'll always find someone willing to throw a game with you. The prices are pretty good ($2.25 and up)and there's free food on Saturday's and Sundays. The game's always on and the jukebox is full of great music, from Frank Sinatra to Prince you'll find something you like. Come down to Foley's and join the party!
