I love this place! It's like dining in your best friends home. The reason for that is because Frankie makes you feel that way. The service is outstanding, the food is incredible (love the chicken parm.) and Frankie is a fantastic host and chef. If you haven't dined here, you've really been missing out. Take a trip to uptown. You won't regret it.

This place is probably one of Uptown's best kept secrets. The food is excellent, and the prices are right. While the neighborhood still needs about a year to get its act together, this restaurant is ready now. Besides great food, the waitstaff is VERY knowledgeable. The waiter from my last visit explained in detail some of the dishes I asked about, and his recommendations were not just "today's specials". An easy recommendation. The owner is the chef, that should indicate something. He was on hand, too, checking on customers and acting the host. This is a substantial dining experience that's not too much of anything. It's comfortable, neither too casual or too uppity. And they don't forget, it's really about the food.

I visited Frankie J's on a Sunday evening and was not expecting much. The location is not the greatest and from the outside it looks like a broken down bar. My perceptions on what this meal would be like could not have been more incorrect. The service is superb, the food excellent and will definitely be back again. I had the blackened salmon and it's better then anything they have at overpriced seafood restaurants downtown like Shaw's. I cannot believe that I have not heard of this place until now.

Frankie J's is a gem hidden on a less than appealing strip of Broadway in Uptown, but don't let that stop you! Frankie's is absolutely worth the trip. We have been several times, and everything that we have tried on the menu has been spectacular. Favorites include the Jalapeno ravioli and the sauteed zucchini. The service is fantastic as well. It is BYOB, and they are very accomodating, keeping beers cold, providing frosted mugs, etc. We have not been to see a show yet, but I'm sure we'll do that soon - we will definitely be back. YUM!

Frankie makes THE BEST SALMON I've ever had. Bar none. Everything on the menu is tasty. I've eaten there many times and I've NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED.

HOT...HOT...HOT...A must experience from the shows to the new art galleria to the fab dinner. The mesquite wood grilled food is so wonderful and this place uses it very well. I was there on Friday and saw the new Galleria, even bought a print, then had sinner and saw the show. This place needs someone to help advertise because we had no idea what we were in store for.

Wow...What a place. We wanted to go to a new place and heard that Frankie J's is something to be tried. So my fiance and I gave it a shot Friday night. Not only did we love the place, service and food, but we stayed for the Stone Soup show which was a blast. Frankie J himself performed as well as a magician and sketch comedy. This is the place and we will be back with friends.

My fiance and I brought a bottle of wine. Were pleasantly suprised by the cuisine. Top notch.Great food cool atmosphere downstairs, upstairs small theatre lots of character. We saw A human pin cushion and two fine standup comedians at a sweet price. What else can I say? Check this place out.

What an awesome great time. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was fabulous, and ended staying to see the Friday Follies. What a treat. Try the wood grilled jack up salmon. It is to die for. Frankie is the one of chicago's unique chef host doing this kind of entertainment / food.

Definitely impressed. I went for dinner and ended up staying for the whole show. Very rarely can you find such a refreshing blend of live music, magic, and a few limericks on the side. Frankie (the owner) is an amazing chef, not to mention he tore someone up for yelling on their cell phone during the show. Chicago dining at its finest!
