I guess this is good pizza if Domino's, Pizza Hut or Frozen are your benchmark. The dough is something like Bisquick with food coloring added. With that said, the atmosphere is sort of cool. A cheap place to get a cocktail, and if you're drunk enough, eat some pseudo pizza. This is a lounge lizard joint, not a restaurant.

The best thin crust pizza, hands down. The atmosphere can not be beat either. Truly a Chicago original.

This is a hidden treasure. I love it. Pizza is to die for and atmosphere is crazy.

Wandered in a couple of Saturdays ago. Pleasantly surprised. Vintage atmosphere, eclectic crowd, and fabulous, thin-crust pizza. Very light and tasty.

I happened upon this place 2 days ago during a horrible snow storm, coming home late from work and was astonished to see this place hopping.Very friendly people and a very liberally poured Absolute on the rocks'.Ordered a "coctail pizza"that was ONLY $4.50 and was one of the best pizza's I have ever had, crust was light and crispy.Apparently they have extended their hours til 2am as I didn't leave til 1am or so,and btw,the juke box is fabulous, and the old lady who makes the pizz's came out of the kitchen to dance with one of the patrons!!!Truely a hidden jewel in Edgewater.

This place is a grungy dive. It was so smokey, I thought I had cataracts. Plus, the patrons are only charming if you think 3 week old corpses are delightful. Stay away!!!!!!!!

Happened upon this place by accident as I was exploring the city on vacation. The deep dish pizza was very good and the price was very reasonable, but the deep dish seemed more like a regular pizza in appearance. Found out this place has been open for about 25 years, so make sure you give this small business a look.

Unbeatable pizza. Unbeatable prices. Unbeatable charm. This cocktail lounge and Italian eatery caters to a mostly regulars crowd, but newbies are always welcome and treated to the same outstanding food and service we regulars adore. Television and quiet conversation co-exist in a charming, intimate art-deco atmosphere. I wish I'd found this place years ago. But now that I have, it becomes my living/dining room one or two evenings every week. Feel free to introduce yourself to the no-nonsense owner/barkeep, George, and her equally lovely side-kick and cook extraordinaire, Peggy. These two exemplify the term "work ethic." Seats at the bar are as comfy as the quaint cove booths. This place is one of the city's best kept secrets, and one of the last of a dying breed: the "neighborhood joint."

my home away from home with the best pizza in chicago!! the staff (both of them) are complete dolls and the regulars (myself included) only add to the charm of this pizza and beer bar. though george would prefer if people called it a cocktail lounge. wednesdays are the best, though any visit to gino's is sure to make you smile.

Love, love, LOVE this place. A real charmer, something of a trip back in time. Don't let the exterior fool you--it may look like the "Sicilian Gentleman's Social Club," but that's the landlord's fault (the CTA). Beautiful art deco bar, five small booths for seating (and that's it), with a real patina of history (I believe it was once a speakeasy). Terrific staff who you won't soon forget. And, lest I forget--delicious thin crust pizza. Not to mention, this place is a tremendous bargain. Quirks: no diet soda, no draft beers. This sort of really authentic neighborhood place is sadly vanishing from the city--stop by and help keep this one alive.
