I'm Turkish and, naturally, love Turkish food. Of course I wasn't expecting my mother's cooking, but I was expecting something at least half-decent. There were made-up dishes in the menu. I think the owner had snorted cocaine before attempting to make a "Turkish" menu. If this restaurant were to open in Turkey with the exact same menu, the owner would be lynched within several hours of opening by the general public. How does anyone expect authentic Turkish food when the whole staff is Mexican. The food had no taste, and I felt embarassed in front of my guest. Our server's response to my dissatisfaction over my meal was simply "oh, okay." The loud-mouthed owner was prancing around the restaurant and was trying his best to promote the American belly-dancer. As if all of these weren't enough to make my visit a complete disaster, the entrees are outrageously over-priced.
p.s For those who've been here before, please don't give up on Turkish food.

I went on a Thursday to smoke hookah with friends, and I never felt so cheated. Cozy seating, but the server said that unless all six of us ordered a full meal, we would not be able to smoke hookah. We ended up order over $150 in food to get our hookah. The food was good, family-style portions, but the hookah was very disappointing - not worth buying full meals for everybody. We didn't even get to choose our flavor because they just gave us double apple without asking. Coals we never brought on a timely manner, so we were left waiting for a half hour to an hour after the coal went out before being able to smoke again. Nice staff and good food, but I would not go there to smoke hookah ever again!

GREAT FOOD, and that's what you should be going for. Their service was terrible. My date and i are college students so maybe that's why we didn't get good treatment. If you're a smoker, don't let them put you upstairs unless you're just getting an appetizer or doing the hookah. It's not a nice atmosphere for eating. Service can be terrible. They sat us in the back table because it was crowded. then they asked if we'd like to sit in the front. we said no (because the front is basically just a hookah bar, but then about 10 drunk people came into our room (which only has 1 table). more were coming so we moved downstairs. we were ignored and i had to flag the waiter down to take our order. everything we ate (lamb special, stuffed artichoke, appetizer plate for two) was EXCELLENT but their service is in want of improvement. Belly dancer was pretty mediocre and not pleasant for the meal. They also charged more than what i signed for, which irritated me more than anything else. My suggestions: go for the food, pay with cash, and stay away from the upstairs bar/hookah lounge.

I am Turkish, and I usually don't like the food at Turkish restaurants in USA. This restaurant is the best Turkish restaurant I have ever been in USA. I have been to Turkish restaurants in New York, San Francisco and all over Ohio. Never had this great taste. I give them *****

Run. Go, Fast. Your stomach will thank you and any one you take with you will be your friend forever.
We love a good eating experience and this was a feast to be talked about over and over. Bread - Fresh and past expectation Hummas - Add lemon and fall in love Entrees - Roll your eyes and smile Must have - apple tea
Didn't like-It was a bit to dark. But they have the ability to lighten the room. Definately a full bellied kitten experience

This is the best Turkish food in Chicago! The waiter...I think his name was Jim - oh my gawd...he needs to serve that food from his naked chest! I'd eat baklava from his bathwater. YUMMMY.

OK. Great food, but the old guy is a FREAK. Every time he puts on "YMCA," I want to puke. Here you are, enjoying the ambience....eating delicious food...and this brassy,played-out music starts blaring in your ears. Talk about a mood killer! Alas, the staff is wonderful, the food is TASTY..especially the lahmacun. Keep the owner away from the stereo..and you're golden.
